Earn while you learn!
Imagine being employed in your dream job and earning a wage even before you have completed your training. Sound too good to be true? It's not, it's an apprenticeship or traineeship. An apprenticeship or traineeship offers you the opportunity to combine training and employment, which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
An apprenticeship or traineeship is available to anyone of working age and does not require any formal pre-qualifications. You can be a school-leaver, re-entering the workforce or simply wishing to change careers.
Generally an apprenticeship lasts for 3 to 4 years while a traineeship can last for 1 to 2 years. In an approved trade, you can achieve your trade qualifications or certificate much earlier!
Qualified, well-paid trades people are in demand and the high standard of TORGAS apprentices and trainees invariably means they are snapped up the minute they acquire their nationally recognised qualifications.
Entry point requirements for courses vary. However, to qualify for TORGAS employment, you must be committed, responsible, willing to learn, have basic literacy and numeracy skills, be punctual, polite and have a genuine interest in the apprenticeship or traineeship being considered.
Once through your apprentice or traineeships, you have the advantage of working in your chosen fields not only in Australia, but also overseas.
You can also use your training as the basis for further education at university or additional certificate level or run your own businesses. In a nutshell, TORGAS can put the world at your feet.
