TORGAS Workplace Health and Safety Policy Statement
Workplace health and safety is at the heart of everything we do at TORGAS. There is nothing more precious to our business than our people. Hence, TORGAS maintains health and safety of TORGAS employees, volunteers, clients and visitors as a key priority.
It is the intention of TORGAS to protect the health, safety and welfare of employees, volunteers, clients and visitors to its office premises as well as ensuring all TORGAS personnel adopt safe work practices when visiting clients' premises.
TORGAS accepts its responsibility as an employer to provide safe working systems and procedures. TORGAS also consults with and seeks the support and co-operation of all host businesses to accept their responsibilities for safety at workplace under their control, where TORGAS employees are working or visiting.
All persons employed by TORGAS, including contractors, volunteers or other persons involved with the operations of TORGAS, have a personal responsibility to TORGAS, their fellow workers, themselves and the general public, to adopt and maintain appropriate health and safety standards in all their work activities.
Workplace Health and Safety Objectives:
TORGAS aims, where practicable and reasonable to:
- Identify and reduce the risks of all types or work activities that have the potential to produce personal injury or occupational illness;
- Provide information, instruction, training and supervision to improve individual understanding of workplace hazards, including safe work practices and emergency procedures; involve individuals in occupational health and safety matters and consult with them on ways to recognize, evaluate and control workplace hazards;
- Ensure that everyone including contractors, volunteers, and visitors complies with appropriate standards and workplace directions to protect their own and other's health and safety at work;
- Provide adequate systems and resources to effectively manage rehabilitation and return to work processes.
TORGAS will not knowingly demand or expect any person to participate in any activities which are likely to be detrimental to their health and safety.
