Apprentices & Trainees

TORGAS gives young and mature age apprentices and trainees important career guidance and the opportunity to earn while they learn.

Under the TORGAS wing, apprentices and trainees are placed with employers - highly regarded Host Businesses - for an agreed period during which they gain valuable practical on-the-job and technical off-the-job training.

TORGAS - recognised as the apprentice and trainee specialist - offers over 600 career options including engineering, automotive, construction, hospitality and administration - just to name a few - so there's something to suit everyone keen to acquire trade qualifications and skills.

At all times, apprentices and trainees are assisted by professional TORGAS Field Officers who organise ongoing support and monitoring, look after all administration, act as go betweens with Host Business and arrange college attendance, leaving apprentices and trainees free to get on with the important job of learning and developing their skills.

Qualified, very well paid trades people are in huge demand and the high standard of TORGAS apprentices and trainees invariably means they are snapped up the minute they acquire their nationally recognised qualifications.

Entry point requirements for courses vary. However, to qualify for TORGAS employment, all candidates must be committed, responsible, willing to learn, have basic literacy and numeracy skills, be punctual, polite and have a genuine interest in the apprenticeship or traineeship being considered.

Once through their apprentice/traineeships, qualified tradespeople have the advantage of working in their chosen fields not only in Australia, but also overseas.

They can also use their training as the basis for further education at university or additional certificate level or run their own businesses. In a nutshell, TORGAS can put the world at their feet.
